Starting August 29, 5pm Team Uber Philippines is back to operations. After more than 2 weeks of suspension and paying approximately Php 190 million fine, the company finally received the order from LTFRB (Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board) allowing them continue their service.
Journey continues for riders in the country who have been waiting for Uber to back on. In the past weeks they have shared frustrations and unwanted experiences from Taxis due to driver’s behavior and Uber competitor – Grab because of surgy pricing.
LTFRB suspended Uber on August 14 and its 36,000 vehicle partners due to accepting applications after July 26 cutoff imposed by the government.
It was a indeed a challenging time for the company, their driver’s and most especially riders who preferred Uber over other mode of transportation.
