“Many of us hope that this case will usher in a return to sanity, science, and medical ethics rooted in ‘first, do no harm.” This is a very strong statement by American College of Pediatricians’ executive director Dr. Michelle Cretella who also stated that doctors and therapists who support children’s gender re-assignment are promoting a political agenda that is not helpful to science. Contrary to what many think, allowing children to transition isn’t a therapy but an institutionalized child abuse as it subjects the child to chemical castration, gaslighting, and surgical mutilation, according to Dr. Cretella. However, many professionals cannot easily speak out against this issue for fear of losing their career. Dr. Cretella added. Talking about the occurrences of people embracing transgenderism, Dr. Cretella stated that this trend, which others consider a “social contagion”, is now becoming prevalent because of social media promotion and indoctrination through schools and activism. Also, every now and then the mass media pushes this agenda further to be accepted by the mainstream population.
Another therapist named David Pickup who is an expert of the subject, from a very active institute in Texas, also warns parents about the possible psychological harm of their child’s transitioning stating that, “pre-teen brains are not developed enough to make irreversible decisions that include removing body parts, and in the case of young children, taking puberty-blocking drugs that could be permanently harmful to them.” In United Kingdom for example, gender transition offered to children as young as 3 or 4 and the interesting part is that children who participated in this program has increased rapidly in a short amount of time.
Another expert named Dr. Andre Van Mol who is a co-chair of the “American College of Pediatricians’ Committee on Adolescent Sexuality” said that “gender transition” for children have not been studied by the FDA, nor is there enough research for professionals to understand all of its long-term impacts”, thus, implying that gender transitioning, especially among children and minors, is totally experimental. Completing a medical transition, according to Dr. Van Mol, is a big question of ethics as it would often ignore real causes of the person’s gender confusion and sexual issues. Talking about “gender affirming therapy”, Dr. Van Mol also stated that the majority of the children who will transition will most likely to have neurodevelopmental disabilities and other kinds of mental health issues.
Another doctor named Julie Hamilton, a “Marriage and Family Therapists, said in her interview in LifeSiteNews that there is no long-term study that can prove that gender transitioning is healthy or effective in bettering the quality of life of a gender-confused child. In fact, according to Walt Heyer, who wrote the book “Trans Life Survivors” and who is an author/manager of the website called SexChangeRegret.com, “Up to 20% have regrets about their sex change. Sex change procedures are not effective, say researchers. More than 40% attempt suicide after the operation”. He also added, “You will hear the media say, “Regret is rare.” But they are not reading my inbox, which is full of messages from transgender individuals who want the life and body back that was taken from them by cross-sex hormones, surgery and living under a new identity. After de-transitioning, I know the truth: Hormones and surgery may alter appearances, but nothing changes the immutable fact of your sex”.
In addition, Dr. Hamilton also said that, “Some of the known risk factors for developing gender confusion include: parents wanting a child of the opposite sex; a child with a sensitive temperament, leading to interpretations of rejection or “a poor relationship with the same-sex parent, poor relationships with same-sex peers, over-identification with members of the opposite sex, parental reinforcement of cross-gender behaviors, and sexual abuse.”
Talking about the child’s treatment by their parents, Katy Faust, the founder and director of an organization that helps children in marriage and divorce called Them Before Us, explained that, “The idea that adults have a right to a child even if it means violating that child’s right to be known by their biological mother treats children as an object from the moment of conception. It’s as if he exists to make the mother happy, despite the cost to his natural rights. It’s not a great leap to then believe that this child’s own body exists for the mother’s fulfillment, regardless of the costs to his long term health.”
